Two Weeks to Go!

Just 14 days left of Evanston summer before I begin my European adventure abroad!  I am about to spend fall quarter of my junior year at Northwestern University studying in Seville, Spain.  I am going to be living with an as-yet-unknown host family, taking classes, traveling and (hopefully) learning to flamenco dance, eating tapas, becoming fluent-ish in Spanish, wandering, siesta-ing and otherwise enjoying "Seville's most developed art form...that of enjoying oneself." Lonely Planet's words, not mine.

Two weeks from today I am going to be jump-starting my fall semester by heading off for a two-week stay in the UK with my sister, Anna.  As I will be missing Anna's first semester at NU (go 'cats) we thought it would be a perfect time to go on a sister trip. We'll miss you, Griff.  At the end of August I will head to Seville to meet up with the rest of my Junior Year in Spain (JYS) group.

In the meantime, I plan to enjoy Evanston and Chicago, attempt to read Harry Potter 1 in Spanish, pack, jam to my España playlist on Spotify, pack some more, make a bunch of lists, hop up and down with excitement and buy a red bullfighting cape.

And now, here's a throwback to my high school Spanish class when we had to transcribe "La Camisa Negra." Thanks for the fun times, Juanes.

Oh and one more thing.  If the header of this blog seems like a bit of a visual fiesta, its because I'm currently taking a graphic design class at the Art Institute of Chicago and I got a little carried away with practicing my Photoshop skills.
